---Discover Sunday Morning FAQ’s

Here is a little about what you can expect when you visit us here at Highest Praise Worship Center. If you have more questions or want to inquire about something, then please feel free to contact us.
What Will Service be Like?
You will find a very passionate people worshipping a Savior who loves us very much. We are Pentecostal in our worship, aka some will lift their hands, clap, dance a little…enjoy themselves.
What Should I Wear?
We want you to feel comfortable. After all, we are thrilled that you’re joining us and want you to be more focused on the service than what you’re wearing. In the summertime, it’s not uncommon to see people wearing sandals, shorts, and a shirt. Others prefer to still put on their “Sunday best,” and that’s fine too! We think you’ll fit in no matter how you dress.
Where Do my Children Go?
We offer a nursery for children 4 and under that is well supplied to keep children safe & entertained. For children 5-12, we have children’s church where they will be taught a lesson from the Bible along with some games and crafts. Of course, they are also welcome to be with us in the Sanctuary.
Am I Expected to Give in the Offering?
If you are visiting with us, we don’t expect you to put money in the offering, and you are welcome to just let it pass you by. If you consider becoming part of the HPWC family, we believe God will bless when you give!  He loves a cheerful giver.

--- Highest Praise                     History

Highest Praise Worship Center officially began as Glad Tidings Church of God on January 3 1951. Over the years our name has changed, but our heart and commitment to the community of Stockbridge has not.
We began as a tent revival near Green road and M-52. Out of this revival was birthed our modern church. When it became too cold to meet outside, we moved into the Stockbridge Town Hall, which was a theater at the time. We met in the basement until we built our first building on Elizabeth Street a few blocks from Downtown. It was there that the Lord expanded and blessed our church to the point where a new building became necessary. In 2003, we moved to our current location behind Farmer’s State Bank on the corner of M-52 and M-106.

---Declaration of Faith
We Believe:
  • In the verbal inspiration of the Bible.
  • In one God eternally existing in three persons; namely, the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
  • That Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of the Father, conceived of the Holy Ghost, and born of the Virgin Mary. That Jesus was crucified, buried, and raised from the dead. That He ascended to heaven and is today at the right hand of the Father as the Intercessor.
  • That all have sinned and come short of the glory of God and that repentance is commanded of God for all and necessary for forgiveness of sins.
  • That justification, regeneration, and the new birth are wrought by faith in the blood of Jesus Christ.
  • In sanctification subsequent to the new birth, through faith in the blood of Christ; through the Word, and by the Holy Ghost.
  • Holiness to be God’s standard of living for His people.
  • In the baptism with the Holy Ghost subsequent to a clean heart.
  • In speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance and that it is the initial evidence of the baptism of the Holy Ghost.
  • In water baptism by immersion, and all who repent should be baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.
  • Divine healing is provided for all in the atonement.
  • In the Lord’s Supper and washing of the saints’ feet.
  • In the premillennial second coming of Jesus. First, to resurrect the righteous dead and to catch away the
  • living saints to Him in the air. Second, to reign on the earth a thousand years.
  • In the bodily resurrection; eternal life for the righteous, and eternal punishment for the wicked.
