We're already a month into the new year-2012- and what a great year it has been so far! Here at HPWC, we've seen God's favor in certain areas pertaining to the church, we've seen miracles take place and God bring new families to join with us in our worship experience! God is GOOD!

As we look ahead this year, we begin to see that there is still much to do! Though we've seen God's hand move already, we know that there is still a harvest field ready to be reached.

So how is it that we are going to see goals met? As we've heard in the word so far this year, one of our vital elements is TEAMWORK! Our joining together with God's plan/vision is key to the success here at HPWC!
Like the popular poster with uncle Sam, "We NEED YOU!" And here's what you can do to help!

WORSHIP

John 4:23
But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.

Part of our relationship with the Father is our communication with Him. Communication is key to the success of any relationship and even more so in regards to OUR relationship with Jesus Christ!
Worship is a form of communicating with our Creator; worshipping is a lifestyle that you live; worshipper is WHO you are!
If we are to be part of what God is doing, we must be a worshipper, giving Him thanks in ALL things, for the word says that He is seeking for such to worship Him! Your worship is a vital key to the plan God has at HPWC!

PRAYER

Matthew 17:20-22
20 So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. 21 However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.”

Again, communication is KEY! If you are to see happenings to take place in your life and those who are connected to you, prayer is going to be an important game changer. Prayer is the "behind the scenes" element that brings the "happenings" out to prove as a witness of God's power!

If we are to see God move in the services, lives, communities here at HPWC, we must be a praying church! We must be a fasting church! When we can set aside time daily, forsaking somethings, sometimes, we will be drawn into a relationship with Christ unlike ever before! Before we can ever take our "world" by storm, we must be willing to put the time in in prayer! Going forward without prayer is like building something without taking the time to make a blueprint or read directions! Though it might be possible to build, it is easier when we know the direction to take!

TEAMWORK

Matthew 18:20

For where two or more are gathered together in my name, I am in their midst!

What comforting words Jesus spoke, that He is in our midst! When we join together, and as a church join with Jesus, He will be in our midst, with us as we seek to do His will! God can & does move when you pray & seek Him, but the Word shows us that when we join together, we can accomplish much!

The worst thing for a church to do is to depend on the same people for every event that takes place. When the same few do all the work, there's normally not as much success that follows with it.
Jesus sent 70 disciples out 2 by 2. They worked together to accomplish the will of the Father, covered more ground, than if one or a few tried by themselves!

Together, we can see God do great things here at HPWC! I know that as pastor, even what we are doing now wouldn't be possible without the team we have!

So lastly, I want to say thanks for being part of our team! If you're not already part, I would ask that you pray about joining together with us- we could use you!
God has done great things thus far, and we are expecting Him to do even mightier still!
For with God, ALL things are POSSIBLE!

Living for Him!

<![CDATA[Merry Christmas!]]>Tue, 29 Nov 2011 11:27:42 -0800http://www.hpwcfamily.org/1/post/2011/11/merry-christmas.htmlPicture
With the Christmas season approaching, everyone is busy shopping. Walmart, Target, Best Buy and the mall are just some of the places where people are flocking to go!

And with this comes the "crazzies"! You know them- run down aisles, knock people over, yell, scream and push- maybe you're one of them! :-)

During this Christmas season, let us take more than a day. I would say, let us take this season to remember the reason we celebrate the way we do!

Isaiah 9:6 (kjv)
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

God gave the greatest gift anyone could ever receive! He offered eternal life to all who call on Jesus' name! Through this gift, we are given peace that passes all human understanding, healing in place of our sickness, provision in place of our need!

This Christmas let us give that same gift God has given us! We can do this by sharing the birth of Christ from the Bible! Inviting someone to attend service with you this month!

Let's remember the keep Jesus to focus of this "holiday". For as the saying goes, "He is the reason for the season!"

Merry Christmas!

<![CDATA[Thanks"LIVING"]]>Thu, 10 Nov 2011 09:18:38 -0800http://www.hpwcfamily.org/1/post/2011/11/thanksliving.html1 Thessalonians 5:18 - "...in everything give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." (NASB)

As we approach what is traditionally one of everyone's favorite holidays-Thanksgiving- we're reminded time and time again to remember what we are to be thankful for. With social media, there is the THANKSGIVING CHALLENGE, in which you post a tweet, status update, a blog, etc...for the next 30 days, each day being thankful for something. WHAT A GREAT IDEA!

In life we sometimes find ourselves overly busy. Between the job, family, school, church, community, there is a lot going on. We interact with people on a daily basis, but sometimes we forget or fail to remember that which is important. And that is to be thankful in ALL things!

Paul, in his writings, encourages the church to remember their conduct and how it should reflect Christ. In verses 12-24, he calls on the church to do a few things (living) to encourage or uplift "those who diligently labor among you...".
And as a church we should:
          - appreciate - be peaceable
          - encourage - help others
          - love - be patient
          - rejoice with others - be prayerful
          - be sensitive to the Spirit - stay away from evil

It is in these teachings that Paul writes that if we will lives these attributes out daily, God will do His part!
"Faithful is He who calls you..." (vs. 24)

The THANKSGIVING CHALLENGE is a great reminder of giving thanks. But let us remember to thank our heavenly Father for all that He has done for us, so that in ALL THINGS (everything) we give thanks! May our lives be a reflection of our thanksgiving unto Him!

Let's do our best not only to offer thanksGIVING, but let's do our best to be thanksLIVING!
